Founded in 1967 in South Korea, Hyundai Motor Company has grown into the world’s third-largest automaker by production. While their first vehicle launched in 1968, Hyundai didn’t enter the U.S. market until 1986 with a single model, the Excel. Despite the limited offering, Hyundai made history by selling 168,882 units that first year, more than any brand had ever sold in its U.S. debut.
