Suzuki was founded in 1909 by Michio Suzuki, as Suzuki Loom Works, manufacturing weaving looms. In 1955 Suzuki released its first car the Suzulight, it featured front-wheel drive and four-wheel independent suspension which was innovative for its time. In 1981 Suzuki entered a partnership with General Motors (GM). In 1983 Suzuki entered the U.S. market under the name Suzuki Motor Corporation. In 2010 they ended their partnership with GM. Suzuki exited the United States in 2012. Vehicles that were offered in the United States were, the Forenza, Verona, Kizashi, grand vitara, XL7 to mention a few.
